Velocity the Hedgehog

Presenting.....the first female Sonic Character I ever created. No one ever saw her because back when I first created her I was very good at drawing girls so it kinda came out badly. Granted I did add some stuff to her outfit that you see now. (The bands on her quills, the zipper on her pant legs, etc.) Note: When I created her she was based Eddie "skate" Hunter from the Streets of Rage series. (If you don't know what Streets of Rage is and you grew up with Sega Genesis, I'LL KILL YOU!!!! JK...maybe) 2nd Note: While I no longer have the original drawing. I am somewhat suprised at how looking at other fan characters jogged my memories of something long forgotten for almost 10 years.

Bio: From an early age, Velocity Travers has always been a bit of a genius. She excelled in all her classes as a straight A student. Her family was so proud of he, especially her big brother Swift. As she grew older she got into working as a scientist. Her bedroom was her laboratory. When she wasn't working on an experiment, she could usually be found writing complex equations and genius level problem on her walls. Anything to keep her brain active.

Velocity was always seious about everything. Especially her work. However that all changed the day of her 19th Birthday. Velocity was working on what she called the "V-Core". An experimental energy source that uses Space-Time rifts as an infinate power supply. The V-Core, still in its prototype stage seemed like it was going to work. Just when success seemed within her grasp, something happened, Space and Time began to distort. Velocity tried desperately to shut the experiment down but she couldn't pull it off in time. The experiment failing not only leveled their house, but the accident critical wounded her brother and took the lives of both Swift's girlfriend and the child she was pregnant with.

The accident left Velocity emotionally and mentally scarred. She could tell that her brother blames her for what happened and that he hated her for it. He stopped speaking to her. He doesn't even look in her direction. If he so much as glanced at his sister for an instant, he would break down into tears. The guilt in her heart began to take its toll on her. She fell deep into depression. Her behavior became a bit unsettling, she began to lose her sanity. Before long her parents (who weren't home at the time of the accident) began to grow concern for her well being. They went to check on her at the hospital only to find her gone and note she had wrote to them. The note explained how she felt. That she blames herself for what happened. That she can't take the stress on mind and heart of know that her big brother, whom she loved and looked up to, can't even look at her anymore.

Velocity wandered for days until, for reasons she could not explain nor understand, she was drawn back to her home. The very site caused her so much pain. Her hatred for herself grew with every passing second. For years, Science was the one thing she loved. But now. Now she hates it. She finally came to the decision that she would give up science forever. As she continued to walk through her destroyed house she found something that caused her heart to sink. Her prototype V-Core was still intact. Despite being unstable. Even though she no longer wanted anything to do with that thing but she knew that she couldn't leave it. If it ever fell into the wrong hands, the results would be catastrophic.

Salvaging whatever she could, Velocity left her old life behind. She traveled in solitude. Not speaking to anyone. Yet she was still haunted by the tragedy that she caused. Just when she was at her breaking point, she met a nice cat by the name of Sparrow Chaser. He was just what Velocity needed, a friend. He listened to her, he talked to her. He convinced her that life shouldn't be taken so seriously and that she needs to relax. Velocity told Sparrow about what happened and he told her that she needs to let it go. He then introduced her to his friend Destiny the Bat. Destiny was just like Sparrow. She listened to Velocity and gave her support. Being a runaway she had nowhere to go. Destiny agreed to let her stay with her so she would have someone to keep an eye on her while she healed mentally.

Within a year's time Velocity was well again. Only now, she was a different girl. She was happy for the first time in quite a while. She found a passion in free running. She used it to express how she want to feel free. Unbound by the chains of fate. Taking not of her serious skills, Destiny helped her find a job as a courier. Velocity liked the job because it was a test of her agility and speed. Plus the job helps pay the bills.

Being gone for so long, Velocity began to miss her family. One day she got a package that was assigned to be delievered by Velocity specifically. This made Velocity a bit suspicious but it was her job so she didn't ask questions. She treated it as if were another delivery so took the job. The trip was fairly easy and offered no challenge what-so-ever. Truely disapointing. She knocked on the door and waited. Who answered brought her to tears. Her brother Swift had had made a full recovery. Velocity found herself overcame with a wave of emotions. She tried to run away but Swift grabbed her arm and pulled her back into a hug. Velocity was so confused but Swift told her that he never blamed her for what happened. He was only sad that he had lost someone special to him. He told he that he had been looking for her for months. Velocity looked at her big brother and hugged him. She promised that she wouldn't let anything bad happen to him ever again.

From there on, Velocity continues to live a carefree yet exciting life with her friends and family. Yet there was still something on her mind.
